Japanese red Bemgara is amulet color

日本では古来、赤色には邪悪なものを避ける力があるとされてきました。

日本の赤色で真っ先に思うのは神社の鳥居や建物でしょう。

でも大昔の神社の鳥居は黒木（皮付き）か白木（皮をむいた）材木でした。

後に「聖域には魔除けを」という事から丹塗りが施されるようになりました。

神聖なエリアに邪気が入らないようにパワーカラーで護っているのですね。

Since ancient times in Japan, red has the power to avoid evil things.

The first thing you think about in Japanese red is the torii gate and buildings of the shrine.

However, the torii gate of a shrine in the old days was a tree with skin or a peeled timber.

Later, the sanctuary was painted with a tan paint to amulet.

The old people protected the sacred areas with power colors to prevent evil from entering them.

神社の赤色は朱色です。その朱はベンガラから作られます。

ベンガラ格子などは色気がありますね。

（そのネーミングはベンガルから来た輸入品だったから）

The red color of the shrine is vermilion. Its vermilion is made from bemgara.

There is a color such as a bemgara lattice.

(Because the naming was an import from Bengal.)

丹の意味は純粋・まごころ。「丹心」「丹誠」「丹精」「丹念」

心が込められている事を表します。

丹；Its meaning is pure and gokoro. It represents what the heart is in.

寺社の丹塗り

・硫黄と水銀化合物の赤土と、

・赤い色の辰砂（しんしゃ。水銀の硫化鉱物。有毒）や鉛丹（えんたん。顔料で四酸化三鉛の粉末で，明るい赤色の粉末。光明（こうみよう）丹）を含み，赤色の顔料として使われた土です。

「これら材料を混ぜただけでは、あの鮮やかな朱色にはならない」

これは初耳でした。

なんと、

「ベンガラは粉砕時間によって色を変える」

例えば、粉砕をはじめて30分では、暗い赤色。

鮮やかに変化するのは15時間くらいからとの事。

"Just mixing these ingredients doesn't make that bright vermilion."

This was my first experience.

Surprisingly,

"Bengara changes color depending on grinding time"

For example, in the first 30 minutes of grinding, it is still dark red.

After grinding for about 15 hours！, it changes to a bright vermilion.
