柳　YANAGI weeping willow

「柳」と聞けば、京阪の人はパッと思う京都の鴨川沿いのシダレヤナギ。

京都のシダレヤナギは京風情がありますねー。

If you ask "willow", keihan people think that it is a weeping willow along the KamoGawa River in Kyoto .Those in Kyoto have a Kyoto atmosphere.

風に揺れるさまは「やっぱり絵になるわぁ」と、時々、ほわーと眺めてます。

Swaying in the wind is "photogenic"

円山公園にも池のねき（側）にシダレヤナギあります。

Maruyama Park also has weeping willows on the side of the pond.

柳：ヤナギ科ヤナギ属の低木，または高木の総称。

大阪城にも柳がありました。

だいぶ前の師走。

ちょっと素敵でした。

江戸を舞台にした時代劇や長唄の歌詞でも、隅田川沿いの柳が良い感じで描かれています。

禅語の柳 　Willow in Zen language

【柳は緑 、花は紅（くれない）】

春の景色の美しさの形容（人工物が加わっていない）でもあり、

世は様々であることと，物事は異なった姿を見せるが，それぞれ自然の理にのっとっているという言葉です。

[Willow is green, flower is red]　The beauty of the spring scenery. (No artifacts added)

And it is a word that means that the world is different and things look different, but each one is according to the reason of nature.

「柳」　知ってる気になってましたが・・・

やっっっっっぱり、知らないことはありました。　

よぉ見る（頻繁に見る意）から言うて、分かった気ぃになったらあかんあかん (⌒-⌒; )

【柳腰】は存じてました。

細くて しなやか〜な腰 の形容ですが，「美人」を言う言葉です。

　【Yanagi-koshi】It's a thin, supple waist.　Beautiful woman" meaning.

美人つながりの言葉・・・

【柳の眉】柳眉（りゅうび）。柳の葉のように細く美しい眉、の「美人の眉」を言った言葉です。 　 ♪ 柳の眉の 流し目に〈 長唄 岸の柳〉

ふだんの和装の時はこのように眉メイクを変えます。舞台の時はもう少し違います。

みなさんも、着物の時はへの字眉にはしないでね！

【柳眉を逆立てる】美人が眉をつり上げて怒るさま。そりゃ、よっぽどですわ・・・

【柳の糸】柳の細い枝を糸に見立てた言葉です。

【柳の髪】 髪の長く美しいさまを柳にたとえていう語。「♪ 柳の髪も徳々と，呼ばれて粋（すい）の名取川」〈浄瑠璃曽根崎心中〉

【柳に受ける】 暖簾に腕押しみたいな感じですね。

逆らわないさま。一見、弱そうですが、実は芯が強い人。もしくは食えない奴。

おだやかにあしらうさま。『柳に風と受け流す」「風に柳と受け流す」

【柳に雪折れ無し】

柳の枝はしなやかなので，雪が積もっても折れません。

柔軟なものは弱々しくみえるが，剛堅なものよりも かえって強いたとえ。

The branches of the willow are supple, so they do not break even when snow accumulates.

The flexible one looks weak, but it is a word of a stronger meaning than the rigid one.

チョイと素敵な「柳」 発見！

【柳】　やなぎ

中世の京都に、美酒で知られた造り酒屋の酒を【柳の酒】といったそうです。略して「柳」　「今夜は柳にしましょうか」なーんて会話したのでしょうねー。

In medieval Kyoto, there was a sake brewery known for its beautiful sake. The sake there was named [YANAGUI sake].

【柳陰】　やなぎかげ　

「本直し」のこと。「本直し」とは〈本味醂に焼酎を加えた酒。なおしみりんとも言った 〉みりん焼酎は調味料でなく甘口の「酒」として飲まれたようです。辛口好みのわたくしのクチではありませんが、「柳かげ」とは、風情ある呼び名じゃござんせんか。

It wais a sake MIRIN & shochu to the taste of the wine.

It was not a seasoning, but was drank as a sweet "sake".

It is not my preference for dry taste, but "shadow of willow" is a name with a taste.

芯に布を巻いて，柔らかい感じの線文様を表した絞り染め。滝絞りとも。

お祝いの「柳」

【柳代】　やなぎしろ

祝儀に柳樽（やなぎだる）を贈る代わりに包む金銭。柳代（やなぎだい）。

【柳樽】 やなぎだる

二本の手のついた酒樽。最初は胴が平たかったが，のち細長くなったそう。

朱漆で祝儀に酒を贈るのに用いた。これを 持って 歩きまわりたい。

生活の中の「柳」

【柳箸】やなぎばし

柳で作った白木の太箸。新年のお雑煮（ぞうに）箸に用います。新年の季語

【柳下駄】

柳の木で作った駒（こま）下駄。

【柳筥】やないばこ

柳の細枝を編んだ蓋（ふた）つきの箱。文房具・装身具などを入れた。

蓋は、後に冠などをのせる台として使ったそう。やなぎばこ。

【柳行李】やなぎこうり

コリヤナギの枝の皮をはいで干したものを麻糸で編んで作った行李。豊岡名産ですね。

【柳刃】やなぎば

細身で先をとがらせた和包丁で、主に刺身を作るのに用いる。

【柳籠】やなぎかご

生の柳の枝で編んだ籠。石を入れて河川の工事などに用いる。万年籠。

時々 聞くことわざ

【柳の下に いつも泥鰌（どじよう）は居ない】

一度は柳の下で泥鰌を捕らえたことがあった、でも，いつでもそこに泥鰌がいるとは限らない。　偶然の好運は何度もあるものではないたとえ。

命の営み・・・

【柳散る】

秋も深まると、柳の葉は散りはじめます。秋の季語

　庭掃きて 出でばや寺に 散る柳　芭蕉

泊めてもらったお寺を出発する前には お掃除する習わし。

弁天さんの神社で、そこにあった竹ぼうきで お弟子さんと一緒にお掃除したときは、

散り柳の真っ最中。　はらはら〜、はらはら〜、ひたすら散っていた柳。

翌春には、新しく瑞々しい若葉を生みだしていました😊

【柳苺】やなぎいちご　（ご存知のかた、いらっしゃいます？）

高さ2mほどのイラクサ科の落葉低木。暖地の海岸付近に生える。葉は線状の長楕円形で，表面にしわ，裏面に白毛がある。早春に開花。

果実は小球状に集まって，キイチゴに似て 橙色に熟したら食べられるそう。
