Shimanami Kaido heading from Onomichi in Hiroshima to ImabariOn the way, there's Oshima! It's one of the places I want to revisit.Above all, the Daizenji Shrine is an outstanding holy place!I can't forget the ancient camphor tree that is 2,600 years old.
I want to show Mr. Renoir the huge camphor tree that looks like the master of the island. In a town in southern France, around 1900, he bought the land to protect the magnificent olive trees (which were about to be turned into a residential area), and he saved the olives. What would the painter say to this divine tree?
Imabari Castle is on the smaller side, but it was constructed by the master castle builder Toudou Takatora. The stone steps are short, but they have a certain charm. If you go, make sure to crouch down and lower your gaze from the bottom of the stone steps. The moat of the castle is filled with seawater. You can see various types of sea fish swimming in the moat, which was enjoyable.
The calm waters of the Seto Inland Sea often appear like a mirror, as has been said for ages. However, the intensity of the tides is such that even the most experienced fishermen say, "We can only go with the tide and come back with the tide".It is this intensity that forces such words. The construction of the Tatara Bridge in the Shimanami Kaido was done with a special construction method designed to withstand the fierce tides.
Such sea fish is delicious!
Once, a customer from Tokyo asked me. He said with a face that showed he was unconvinced, "A sushi restaurant in Ginza said that fish from the Seto Inland Sea isn't tasty. Is that true?" It was revealed that the sushi restaurant that made that statement had never eaten the fish from Setouchi. Even if they carry the name value of Ginza, it is foolish for a man to take pride in telling customers wrong assumptions. He should know shame! ...
In that way, I felt bad when my favorite place was criticized, but soon we all started laughing together."Before pretending to be a pro and making mistakes, you should study.""Learn from others' mistakes to correct your own."A nice proverb from our predecessors.
