This time, please take a moment to appreciate Hiroshige's gaze.
When snow is beautiful and starts to drift gently, it instantly lifts the spirits... ...a moderate snowfall is really nice, isn't it?
Snow or rain that falls during the first three days of the New Year is called 'osagari,' and it has been said since ancient times that it indicates a good harvest for the year. It would be wonderful if that could be the case this year. Last year, we really felt the effects of a poor rice harvest during the Edo period... It was something I had thought of as just a historical fact, but now I truly understand how people at that time longed for a bountiful harvest.
