『忠臣蔵』CHU-SHIN-GULA

忠臣蔵には、現代人に対する教訓がいっぱいあります。

　Chushingura has many lessons learned from modern people.

忠臣蔵の意味は [ 忠義の心を忘れなかった家臣の蔵之介 ]

赤穂浪士は赤穂では赤穂義士と呼ばれます。

彼らの敵討ちを主題とした浄瑠璃・歌舞伎・実録本などの総称。普通は「仮名手本（かなでほん）忠臣蔵」を指します。（元禄は 1688年9月30日～1704年3月13日の間）

　A general term for Joruri, Kabuki, and real-life books on their subject of avenge their enemies.Usually, it refers to "Kanadehon Chushingura" of Kabuki.(The Genroku period was between September 30, 1688 and March 13, 1704.)

武士は、主君がダメでも仕えなくてはいけない立場でした。

ですから、心から仕えたいと思う人望ある主君を大好きになるのは自然なことですね。

　The samurai was in a position where the Lord had to serve even if he was not good.　Therefore, it is natural for samurai to love the lord who wants to serve from the bottom of their hearts.

浅野内匠頭は、家臣から好かれた藩主だったのでしょう。

武士にとって主君は、親同然。

彼らの親に恥をかかし、不公平な公的ジャッジによって、主を死なせた相手と幕府を許さない気持ちは、十分に理解できますね。

　Takumi Asano was probably a lord who was liked by his vassals.To a samurai, the Lord is just like his parents.Everyone can fully understand their feelings of humiliating their parents and forgiving the Lord and the shogunate by unfair public judges.

忠臣蔵には、教訓がいっぱいあります。

　Chushingura has many lessons learned from modern people.

人としてしてはいけない事（いじめ・心の狭さ・不平等・特権意識・横暴者の迷惑さ・悪しき習慣は安易に作られる事・悪い政治が不幸を生むこと）それらの醜さ。

そして、形はどうあれ、間違いを正す者たちは勝利する。

　それを歌舞伎にしたのが仮名手本忠臣蔵です。

　Things that should not be done as a person (bullying, narrowness of mind, inequality, privilege consciousness, nuisance of tyrannists, bad habits are made easily, bad politics creates unhappiness) their ugliness.And, whatever the form, those who correct mistakes will win.It was Kana-tehon-Chushingura who made it into kabuki.

現代こそ教訓になる史実

「人として してはいけないことをする者は、特権意識で得意になり横暴に生き、周りの大勢に 大不快感と大迷惑をかけて不幸にさせてしまう。人に嫌な行動をする者は例え地位があろうと、結果、自身も滅ぼされる。」

ざっとあらすじ

元禄14年（1701）江戸城の松の廊下で赤穂藩主・浅野内匠頭が吉良上野介に刃傷に及び、浅野内匠頭は直ちに切腹。対して吉良上野介はちょっとした罰を与えられただけでした。

敵は、吉良義央よしなか 1641～1702

江戸中期の幕臣，高家筆頭。通称が上野介（こうずけのすけ）1701年，[ 勅使（ an Imperial envoy 天皇の意思を直接に伝えるために派遣される使い）を接待する役になった赤穂藩主浅野長矩（ながのり。浅野内匠頭）] を公然と辱（はずか）しめる暴挙をし、江戸城中で、長矩に切られて負傷，御役御免となる。翌年，大石良雄ら赤穂義士に討ち入られ，殺された。

赤穂藩主・浅野長矩 1667～1701

江戸中期の大名で播磨国赤穂藩主。内匠頭（たくみのかみ）。1701年（元禄14）3月14日勅使接待役となったが，殿中で典礼ceremony or ritual instructor指南の吉良義央の無礼に激昂し切りつけ，即日，切腹除封の処分を受けた。

The enemy is Kira Yoshinaka 1641-1702Makuomi in the mid-Edo period, commonly known as Kozuke no Suke) 1701, was cut in Edo Castle by angry and injured because he made an outrage that openly humiliated Asano Nanori, the lord of the Ako Domain, who was the role of entertaining the an Imperial Envoy. The shogunate had only the punishment to remove him from the role of envoy. The following year, Yoshio Oishi and others were attacked by Yoshishi Ako, and Kira was killed.　

ASANO TAKUMINOKAMI　Ako Lord Asano Naganori 1667-1701 He was a feudal lord in the mid-Edo period and a feudal lord of Ako, Harima Province. Takumi's wife. In 1701, he became a guest of the envoy on March 14th, but he was severely cut off by the rudeness of Yoshio Kira of the ceremony or ritual instructor in the hall, and was punished by his kirikiri on the same day.

問題点

①　江戸城内で刃傷刃物で人を傷つけることは禁止されていた。

②　喧嘩両成敗（争えばどちらにも罰を与える）なのに、片方は切腹、片方は ほぼ罰なしという不平等が過ぎた。

③　そもそも幕府は、刃傷に至る原因であるプロセスを探らなかった不手際があった。

（これは、昨今の刑事事件を見ても感じませんか？そこまでに至る積み重ねは見ないのかしら？と . . . ）

浅野内匠頭は、禁止されてる事を知っていたのに何故、吉良上野介を城内で斬り殺そうと激昂したのでしょう？

　吉良が「自分に賄賂を持ってこない」という理由で浅野に嫌がらせの数々をしていたからです。

浅野内匠頭は、賄賂を悪しき慣習と考えていました。（それは間違ってないと思われます）

お役を命じられれば、任務を遂行すれば良いものを、ウラでコソコソずるいことをして . . . 今でもそうでしょう？（それは歴史から学べますのに . . . ）

　Why did Takumi Asano know that it was prohibited, but why did he lash out at slashing and killing Kira Uenosuke in the castle?This is because Kira harassed Asano because he didn't bring a bribe to him.Takumi Asano considered bribery a bad practice. 武家と朝廷は別物です。

政治の実権は武家がずっと握っていましたが、一応、朝廷（天皇）の地位を、武家よりも上位のままとしていたのはみなさまもご存知ですね。

The samurai and the imperial court are two different things.

The real power of politics has been held by the samurai for a long time, but you all know that the position of the Imperial Court (Emperor) remained higher than that of the samurai.

先ほどの令和天皇の儀式の数々でわかるように、朝廷には様々な儀式のカタチが数々あります。儀式の前後と最中に衣装を変えたりもします。とにかく細かい。それらを知る教養人？？として吉良上野介は指南役になってエラそうにしていたようです。

京都の朝廷の儀式など、武家が知るわけがないのです。御所に入れるのはトップだけだったでしょうから。

ですから、メッセンジャーである勅使を迎えるだけでも江戸城が大騒ぎになったのですね。

吉良義央は、どの礼服で迎えるかなども大名たちに伝える役目でした。

役目なのですから、シノゴノ言わずに気持ちよく教えれば良いものを、彼はそうしなかった。

大名たちは、賄賂を吉良に渡して教えてもらい、お礼といって又また賄賂を渡していました。吉良にとって賄賂は当たり前だったようです。

もちろん、してもらったお礼をすることは礼の気持ちを表しますので、お礼の金品を渡すことは変ではありません。

しかし、あらかじめ賄賂を持ってこないという理由だけで、その人に恥をかかせてやるとか、窮地に陥れてやると考え、しかも実行してしまう人間性は最低です。ウソを教えて大慌てさせ、罵り . . . 。

「浅野内匠頭は迂闊だった、我慢が足りなかった」と否定的な意見もあります。でも、その人は、自分が同じように大事な場面で、1つではない策略にはめられた挙句、おまえは田舎モノだからと人格も全否定されて、公の場で辱められたら？果たして平気でいられるのかしら？？

赤穂儀式たち討ち入り

元禄15年12月14日（新暦では1703年1月30日にあたる）夜，47人の元・赤穂藩の浪士たちが、江戸本所松坂町の吉良上野介（こうずけのすけ）義央（よしなか）の邸に仇討ちに入り，主君浅野内匠頭（たくみのかみ）長矩（ながのり）の仇打ちを遂げました。

　On the night of December 14, 15 (in the new calendar, January 30, 1703), 47 former Ako clan ronin entered the residence of Yoshiyoshi Kozuke Yoshinaka in the town of The main office Matsuzaka, and accomplished the death of the master, Takumi Asano's kami Naganori).

江戸時代、史実をそのまま歌舞伎にするのは禁止でした。ですので登場人物の名前は変えられています。

浅野内匠頭 Asa-no-takumi-no-kami →塩谷判官 Enya-hangan

吉良上野介Kila-koh-zuke-no-suke→高師直 Koh-no-molo-nao

大石内蔵助→大星由良之助 Oh-boshi-yu-la-no-suke.

　In the Edo period, it was prohibited to make the historical facts kabuki as it is. So in Kabuki, the names of the characters have been changed.

歌川国貞　忠臣蔵シリーズ　大判3枚続きで描かれています。全11段。

大序

　設定は南北朝時代とされています。高師直（こうの もろなお。吉良を模している） は当時の鎌倉を任されていた。

鶴岡八幡にて、塩谷判官（浅野内匠頭を模している）ら大名たちが集まっている。

奉納する兜をあらためる為に 呼び出された塩谷判官の美人妻の顔世御前が左にいます。

　Introduction

The setting is considered to be the North-South Dynasty. Nao Takashi (Kono Moronao. It mimics Kira) was in charge of Kamakura at that time.In Tsuruoka Hachiman, daimyo and other feiters gather ed., "It mimics Asano."KaoYO-GOZEN of the beautiful woman who is the wife of The Shioya judge who was called to check the coffin to be dedicated is on the left.

実は、高師直は顔世御前に岡惚れ . . . だけでも迷惑千万なのに、ラブレターまで渡して口説こうとするなど迷惑ばかり。

当たり前ですが、顔世御前は高師直になびきません。

三段目

　刃傷のシーン。高師直は、塩谷判官の妻にふられた腹いせに、彼をひどく虐める。

遂に判官は怒りの一太刀！ Finally SIOYA is a sword of anger!

でも判官は止められてしまってトドメを刺せませんでした。高師直の額を切っただけ . . . 。

　But Shioya was stopped and couldn't stick to KOHNO, just cut his forehead . . . .

梶川さんが、余計なことを . . .

観客が すっきりしない気分になるシーンです。

Mr. Akutagawa did something unnecessary. . . . .It is a scene that the audience get Annoying, irritated .

四段目

塩谷判官は、即日切腹というヒドい罰を受けてしまいました。

赤穂の領地も没収。幕府は浅野家を潰したのです。

判官は切腹のその時、駆けつけた大星由良之助に仇打ちを託しました。

　Fourth stage

Shioya received an improbable punishment from the shogunate.Ako's province was also confiscated. The shogunate crushed the Asano family.Shioya entrusted the strike to the obushi of the vassal who rushed at that time of the belly.

大星は表門に駆けつけてきた大勢の家来たちに言いました

「この形見の刀で仇打ちを！」

　Mr. Oboshi said to the many Asano servants who rushed to the front gate."Let's beat KOHNO with this memento sword!" 」

歌舞伎ではセリフではっきり「仇打ちしよう」と言いますが、実際は、今すぐ仇打ちしたい家臣たちをなだめたようです。

大石内蔵助は、仇打ちを成功させるためには勢いだけでは討てないと考えたからだと思われます。

そして我慢の年月が始まったのです。

七段目

お茶屋・一力茶屋のシーン。（京都花見小路に現在でも存在します。いつか遊んでみたい店ですが、いつになるやら）

大星由良之助は仇打ちを世間に気付かさないように毎晩、お茶屋で遊び呆け、ダメな印象を演じます。

　Seventh stageThe scene of a tea house and a ichiriki tea house.Mr. Oboshi played around in a tea shop every night so as not to notice the public about their beating, and played the impression of a bad man.

忠臣蔵シリーズで最も有名と言われるシーンです。

右端の大星が縁側で手紙を読む。討ち入りに関する重要な手紙です。

　It is a scene that is said to be the most famous in the Chushingura series.On the far right, Mr. Oboshi reads the letter on the edge.It is an important letter about the attack.

扇子を後ろ衿に挿していますね。

これは遊び慣れた酔っ払いの様子。大星のダメ男っぷりの演出です。

He's inserting a fan into your back.This is a play-free drunk.It is the production of the bad man of Oboshi.

遊女になったお軽は、ちょっとしたいたずら心から、鏡越しに手紙を読みます。早野勘平の妻です。討ち入りには費用がかかりました。お軽は身を売って資金を作ったのです。

　Light who became a prostitute reads the letter through the mirror from a little mischievous mind. She is Kanpei Hayano's wife. It was expensive to get into the attack. Light sold himself and made the money.

この場面は、玉三郎さんが、いつも見事に演じられます。読むのに夢中になり体をそらすようにした瞬間、かんざしが落ちます。その音で大星が気づきます。

縁の下では、手紙を盗み見ようとする高師直の手下もいて . . . 。

　Tamasaburo-san, a living national treasure, is always performing beautifully. The moment O-KARU becomes engrossed in stealing and reading letters and distracts himself, the moment he falls. 11段目

討ち入りで戦うシーン。美的な襖は蹴破られ、予備の炭が散らばっています。

さすが国貞さん。この炭は高師直を発見するキーワードです。

炭小屋に隠れていた高師直を見つけました！

They finally found the enemy KOH-NO hiding in the coal shed!

浪士たちは高師直に武士らしくケジメをつけるよう切腹を促します。

高師直は、それに従うと見せかけて、反撃したので、仕方なく首を取った。

武士の恥は、簡単に殺されることや、処刑されること。

武士にとっては、武士しかゆるされてなかった切腹で果てることは、ある意味名誉なことだったそうです。高師直の性根が武士ではなく邪悪だったことを描いています。

とにかく、かろうじて夜明け前に本懐を遂げた47人でした。

もし、朝になって高師直（吉良上野介）を見つけられなかったなら、幕府の手が入って邪魔されるので、目標達成ができなかったでしょう。

教え子も出演した連続ドラマの忠臣蔵

赤穂浪士たちの仇打ちは、浅野内匠頭の妻の経略だったとする視点のドラマがありました。（瑤泉院の陰謀）

当時、教え子が出演しましたし、大石内蔵助役が大好きな中村吉右衛門さんでしたので、しっかり見ました。

　The Chushingura of the serial drama that my pupil also appearedThere was a drama from the viewpoint that the beating of the Ako ronin was a short of Asano's wife. At that time, a student appeared in it, and it was Mr. Yoshiemon Nakamura who loved The Assistant oishi, so I watched it well.

討ち入り場面で大好き　隣の大名屋敷が協力してくれるシーン

赤穂浪士から2名が、隣屋敷へ騒ぐことの謝罪に行きます。

「遂に仇打ちをやるか！」隣屋敷の大名は感動します。

「武士の魂、未だ在った！」そして、

「暗くては戦いにくいであろう！灯りを持て！」家臣たちに松明をたくさん用意させます。

吉良邸との塀越しに、背の高い松明が次々に掲げられるシーンは、勢いよくて疾走感もあり . . . じーんと来ました。

みんな、庶民も大名たちも、吉良の横暴と幕府（政府）の間違いを苦々しく思っていた、だったのです。

討ち入った47人は手分けして吉良邸の火の始末をしたそうです。

火災にならないことは大事なことですからね。

　It is said that the 47 people who had attacked the fire were able to clean up the fire of Kira's residence by hand.It's important not to be on fire.

赤穂浪士たちは、早朝の江戸の町を10km以上離れたお寺へ行進します。

その姿を江戸庶民たちは拍手喝采で見送るのです。

実際も、彼らの苦しい忍耐の年月を思い、感動したのでしょう。

塩谷判官の墓前で仇打ちが成功した報告をし、揃って裁判を受けるべく出頭しました。

世論は47人を喝采！大名たちからも「これほど忠義に厚い武士は我が藩でかかえたい（優秀な人材を雇用したい）」

討ち入った浪士たちを許してやれという声が満ちていました。

しかし、ごく一部の視野の狭い者が、判断を迷う将軍綱吉に入れ知恵をしたせいで、浪士たちは切腹となったのです。綱吉自体が側用人柳沢吉保を登用，悪貨乱発・生類憐みの令の制定など悪政を重ねた間違いの元凶でした。

浪士たちは最初から死を覚悟していたでしょうけれど、もったいなかったと、今でも思います。

彼らほど、誠意で働く家臣はいなかったでしょうし、全藩の武士のお手本として、優れた人材を育てることも叶ったでしょうし、優れた人間性でした。つくづく、もったいないことでした。

戦のない、表面的には平和な時代でも「実のある人物」は貴重なのです。

政府は間違った判断をしてはいけない

国民は間違いに漫然としてはいけないとも教えられる歴史です。

赤穂浪士たちの討ち入りは、大好きだった主君の悔しい死への敵討ちだけではなく、「最も権威ある立場の者であろうと間違いは気付かせて、正さなくてはいけない」幕府や綱吉や取り巻きらへの警告、その気持ちはあったはずですね。

もし、吉良上野介が、誰にも親切に教える人間性であったら、こんな悲劇は起こらなかった。バカバカしい欲得、たったそれだけのせいでした。

イジメは最低最悪。人間性を醜くさせるだけ。

世界では、学校、職場などで差別や非人間的な行動を取るニュースがおおくて . . . . 危機感を持ちます。

The government must not make a wrong decision.

年末には、必ず忠臣蔵のTVドラマが放送されていたものです。

最近は制作もされません。8月に戦争を伝える史実やドラマが減ったのと似ていて残念なこと。（昨年は戦争ドラマは少し増えたようです）

わたくしは、子供の頃から時代劇が好きでしたが、それだけで忠臣蔵が見られないのが残念だと思うのではありません。

ずいぶん前から、TV制作側に問題があるのかもと思う番組が目につきます。

パリやイタリアなど海外の大人たちには [大人の格]を感じます。目下に遠慮や引け目などありせん。こどもの流行りも真似などしません。対して日本は？

目上を小馬鹿にする目下（若年層）の悪い言葉使いを、こどもたちが真似して大人に失礼をする . . . それは社会として情けないことです。（公共放送の自覚が無いなら質は低くなる。TVの間違った放送の仕方による悪影響は小さくないようです）

TV離れが加速は、ネット普及だけでなく、見る意味のある番組が減ったからでは？ . . . 現に「TV見ないです」という教え子たちは増えています。

TVは、誰でも見られます。

人として良いこと、してはいけない史実を伝えないTVでは、日本社会の成熟度はいかがなものかしら？と。
