三十三間堂と風神雷神像 SANJYU-SANGEN-DOH & the statue of the god of wind & the god of thunder.

三十三間堂

　お堂の屋根は本瓦葺き。当時も今も、本瓦葺きは贅沢な造りです。The roof of the temple is covered with real tiles. At that time and still, this tile is a luxurious construction.

正式には 蓮華王院 と言います。

国内外から参詣された人はとても多いでしょう。

This temple is officially called Rengue ooin.

There are probably a lot of people who have visited the shrine from home and abroad.

1164 平安期に後白河上皇の命で清盛が造進。

約80年後に消失しましたが

1206 再建されました。

今まで4度の大修復によって、700年以上保存され続けています。

1164 In the Heian period, Kiyomori was built by the imperial order of The Post-Shirakawa Kami,It disappeared about 80 years later, but was rebuilt in 1206.It has been preserved for more than 700 years, with four major restorations to date.

お正月に行われる新成人の通し矢は、毎年必ずニュース報道されます。 長〜いお堂は印象的ですね。

Because the passing arrow by the new adult held in this long hall on New Year's Day is always reported in the news every year, I'm sure you'll find the long hall impressive.

通称の「三十三間堂」は、お堂の長さではなく、

正面に並ぶ 柱の間が33あるからです。

総檜造りのお堂の長さは約120m。その長〜い内部に

1001体の観世音菩薩像群が居並びます。

全てが国宝！

運慶の子・湛慶作『中尊』

The reason for "Sanju-sangen-doh" is not the length of the temple, but because there are 33 pillars in front of the building.The length of the temple of the total cypress making is about 120 m. Inside the long house, there are 1001 Kanzeon bodhisattva statues. Everything is a national treasure!

後白河さんは、時代の飢饉による市井の人々の困窮を流行歌によって知り、時には御所から外出し、実際民の暮らしを目の当たりにし、心を痛めたそうです。

The Goshirakawa emperor knew the poverty of the people by the famine and the infectious disease at that time by the fashion song. He sometimes went out of the imperial palace and was heartbroken by the lives of the people watching the actual town.

当時、女の歌芸人は 遊女と呼ばれ、下層身分でしたが、

後白河さんは、特に庶民の歌の数を多く知るある遊女を側に置き（周りはびっくりしたそう）歌をたくさん習ったとか。

声を潰した説もありますが . . .（そんなに大声を張り上げない歌で声帯が そうなったのかしら？）

暮らしに困窮する庶民に心を痛めた後白河さんが

この蓮華王院を建立させたのは、天災・感染症などの悪いことが起こらないように祈る目的だったそうです。

確かに、天皇の役割は「国と国民の為に神仏に祈ること」

現在でもそれは同じです。報道される（親善外交やもてなしや慰問）以外にも、暦によって定められた儀式がおこなわれていまるようです。

後白河さんの思いはわかります。しかしながら . . .

最も早急に人々が必要としていたのは「食料」と「稼ぎ＝仕事と収入」と治療だったのでは？

子を失くした親や、親を亡くした子らにとって祈りの場は、必要であったでしょうけれど、こんなにも大きく立派な建造物は、思い立ってから完成までに何年もかかってしまいます。

災害初期に於いては、現実的な援助があったほうが良かったようにも思います。

病気も天災も、疫病神のシワザと思い込んでいた時代ですけども . . .

火災の際に僧たちが必死で持ち出した仏像も124体現存。

平安期の仏像は平ためで柔らかいお顔。

There are also 124 Buddha statues that the monks desperately took out at the time of the fire. The Buddha image of the Heian period is a flat, soft expression.

鎌倉期の仏像は厳しい顔つき。

Buddha images in the Kamakura period have a severe face.

現在の、蓮華王院は、人気の京都観光スポットの1つと言われています。

基本的に お寺は観光スポットではない ことを発信すべきと思いますが、京都の特に市内や他所でも観光地化してる寺院に於いては、そこは完全な観光地であると思う寺社がほとんどです。お寺は人間修行の場であるはずが . . . 。（枯山水で有名な寺を案内された先のダライ・ラマさんはいいました。庭の説明ばかりした僧に「あなたはなぜ寺の教えの話をしないのだ？」）

Renhua Wangin is said to be one of the most popular Kyoto tourist attractions.

Basically, it is thought that the temple is not a tourist attraction,. Most temples and shrines in Kyoto, especially in the city and other tourist attractions, think that it has become a complete tourist spot. The temple should be a place of human training, but . . .

　(The former Dalai Lama was guided to a famous temple in KARE-SAN-SUI.He asked the monk who showed him.The monk explained the garden all the time. "Why don't you talk about the teachings of the temple?」 As usual, the monk also explained to the tourists to the Dalai Lama. In other words, it is a temple that does not convey the teachings of temples and buddhist sutras to tourists every day. There are a lot of temples in Kyoto like that. The Dalai Lama scolded them that the monks should live their lives in line with their share. )

三十三間堂を訪れた観光客たちは、居並ぶ金色の仏像群が見たい好奇心があるようです。

彼らは、1001体の実物の観音像群に圧倒され、もちろん感動はしています。

　それは、芸術的な感動でしょうか？

　日本人の精神性への感動でもあるのでしょうか。

Tourists who visit Sanjusanmado seem to be curious to see the golden Buddha statues in the house.They seem to be overwhelmed and moved by the 1001 real Kannon statue group.Of them would it be artistic inspiration?Is their impression of the spirituality peculiar to Japan people?

ところで、2018・7・31　80年ぶりに

仏像群が配置換えされました。キッカケは

中尊内部から発見された摺り仏、群仏像。

発見された摺り仏に描かれていたのは・・・・

大弁功徳天。弁財天さんのことです。

対局の老人の像と対比され、若さや生命がシンボライズされています。

→ 中尊の内部に納められていた摺仏に描かれていた大弁功徳天

中尊の側に在ったことが分かりました。

Daiben Kotdoku-ten.(BEN-ZAI-TEN /BEN-TAN ).She was contrasted with the image of an old man placed in the game, and her youth and life are symbolized.→ Prints stored inside Chu-son was understood that she was on the side of Nakason by The Great Ben Kodoku-ten which had been drawn in the Buddhist painting of

三十三間堂の配置は当初、こうだった事が記されています。

The original arrangement of sanjusanmado is drawn.

風神雷神は、観音さまの命を受けて、衆生の救済へ出動します。

ですので、

仏さまから「外へ向かってダッシュしてる方向」でないと辻褄が合いません。

The wind god and the thunder god receive the finger of Kannon Bodhisattva, and it goes out to the relief of the people.So,From the middle of kannon bodhisattva, if it is not arranged that two gods are popping out, it will not be suitable. Until now, it was arranged that two gods were heading to The Buddha.

雷神は創建時の配置（向かって左）へ戻されました。

風神も今までとは立ち位置が逆に配置換えされました。

The God of wind is rearranged to the originally position , too .

俵屋宗達は、蓮華王院（三十三間堂）の風神雷神を見て描いたと考えられるので、やはり「カミテに風神」が当初の配置であったのがわかりますね。

This work by The Tawaraya Sohtatsu(Sotasu / sootatsu) is thought to have been drawn by looking at the wind god thunder god of Renhua King's House. So, again, the placement of the two Buddha statues, the wind god to the right. You can see that it was the original arrangement.

いずれにせよ、これだけの優れた仏師たちが渾身の気合で制作した仏像群は、何世紀もの祈りを受けて来ました。

だからこそ、

どの国の人たちも心を打つのでしょう。

競争社会においては、財に富み、権力を持つ者が良いと思われます。

でも、そうでしょうか？

ほんとうに？

利己主義と排他的は狭く貧しい心に支配された状態です。

その自身の内なる貧しさの支配に打ち勝てば、

その人たちの精神は、誠に崇高になって、

世界に本当の平和を培う事が出来ると思います。

宗教とは、その為に存在するのですね。

In any case, the buddha statues created by so many excellent Buddhist son of each other have received the prayers of monks and people for centuries. That's why people in every country have something that resonates in their hearts.

In a competitive society, it is thought that the person who is rich in the fortune and has power is good.

　But is that so?

　Are you sure?

If you overcome the rule of its own inner poverty,Their spirits have become truly sublime,I think we can build real peace in the world.Religion exists for that purpose, doesn't it?

もし、魔法が使えるなら . . .

どんなに悪い心の人たちであっても、

わたくしの踊りを観れば、たちどころに改心し、

社会と世界によく役立つ素晴らしい人間に生まれ変わる・・・

そんな踊りが出来るようになりたいものです。

If I can use magic . . .

No matter how bad the heart is,

If such person watch my dance, they will be transformed into a wonderful human being who will be well-intruding and well-served in society and the world.
