和傘・秋の長雨に傘美人の芸術鑑賞　Appreciate ” umbrella beauties ” at the Autumn long rain (Eng)

傘美人たちは

多くの絵師たちの画興をそそってきたようです。

和紙と柿渋

　雨の多い日本では傘文化も発達しました。

和紙でつくられた和傘は、職人によって「柿渋」が塗られて強度が与えられます。

KAKI-SHIBU

渋柿の若い果実から果汁を絞り、それを発酵させた液体。濾して使用されます。

柿渋は、漆器の下塗りや，木や紙などの防水と防腐剤として塗られます。

KAKI-SHIBU;it's a liquid that made of green astringent persimmon juice is fermented for waterproof , antiseptic etc.

高下駄を履いている女の子です。

高下駄は、雨の日の外出で、裾を汚さない為の履き物です。

雨が止んでヤレヤレと言った感じ。

　枝垂れ柳は、梅雨の雨を飲んで、ますます緑を濃くしていきます。

Taka-geta is footwear not to pollute the hem even if going out on a rainy day.

新妻ですね。

昔は、女性は結婚したら眉を剃り落し、お歯黒をつけました（結婚年齢が若すぎる頃は、良くないな男尊女卑の時代でした）. . .要するに、結婚後の女性たちを、他の男たちから魅力的に思わせない策だった？のでは？

しかし、松園さんは、当時の慣習下の既婚女性たちにある、凛とした佇まいを描きました。それは母さまの姿と言われています。

和傘は

竹の骨に和紙が貼られています。和紙には柿渋が防水＆防腐剤として塗られます。和傘は自然の素材だけで作られます。

（柿渋：渋柿の若い果実から搾った汁を発酵させ濾した液のこと。漆器の下塗りや，木麻紙などの防水防腐剤として塗る）

WA-GASA is made only of natural materials.

傘の歴史

傘の歴史は4千年も前に遡るようです。

当時のエジプトやペルシャでは傘は貴族や僧の日除け用。

羽毛などで派手に飾られました。例の、権威を見せつける感じ？

傘が、一般へも広まったのはギリシャ時代。

今でもパリには、19世紀の絵画と同じスタイルのアクセサリー日傘が製造販売されてます。

　ハンウェーさん

18世紀後半にやっと?? 雨傘として使われ始めた、そのキッカケは、ある男性；英国人・ハンウェーさん。

ハンウェーさんは、布に防水加工を施した傘を作り、

　「傘をさして町を歩きました」

Finally in the late eighteenth century??There was a man who began to be used as an umbrella and became a trigger.Mr. British Han.Mr. Han made an umbrella with a waterproof cloth and walked around town.

「 . . . ふつうのことよね？」　私たちにはそう思いますよね。

でもハンウェーさんは . . .奇異な目でみられました。

なぜなら、当時のUKでは、傘とは女性たちがさす日傘の事でした。

　「男が傘を？！しかも、雨の日に？！」

なんと、嘲笑すらあったとか。

「 . . . It's normal, right??」We think so, right?

But Mr. Han...It was seen with an odd eye.

英国人たちは、雨の日は一体、どうしていたの？？

湿気った衣類は不衛生でしょう？

ハンウェーさんは、分からず屋の民衆を意に介さず、雨傘をさし続け、そのうちに、男女共に雨傘を使うのが普通になった . . . 。

　30年もかかって！(⌒-⌒; )
