今回は『下駄と草履のこと』

明治時代の下駄屋さんのポスターです。

色とりどりの鼻緒が並ぶ様子は、当時のオシャレ女性たちの気分を上げた事でしょう！

江戸時代　

旅と行商人は草鞋か藁草履。

The Edo era

The trip and the peddler wore a straw sandals or a straw sandals. called WARA-ZOHRI

身分の低い者や貧民層は裸足

武士か富民の履物。

葬儀など儀式のときに履いたそうです。

女性はもっぱら下駄

草鞋は緒（紐）で足を固定するので、足と一体となって歩き易く、水に濡れても滑らないので旅向きとのこと。

値段も安く12～16文。

ただし、普段の町歩きには面倒。一々緒で縛りますので。

Because the straw sandals fixes a foot in O (string), it is easy to walk with a foot all in one body and is not slippery even if I get wet with waterTherefore it was suitable for a trip.The price was low, too.

＊初めて雪踏を作らせたのは千利休さん＊

草履に草履を重ねたもの：裡付（うらつけ）草履。

湿気が響きにくいように裡皮か牛皮が貼られました。

江戸時代後期

雪駄に「うらがね＝裡鉄」が付けられました。

[遠路にこれを用い、久しく堪えることを要す。

ただし、旅行には用いず]

草履・・・麻裏草履上精製の物250文、下品粗製100文、麻裏を用いない物は藤倉草50～60文。

藁草履・・江戸の商家の奉公人はこれで労働12文。

現代の下駄　素材は桐

黒いのが夏用。昔は地道でしたので、

道を素足で歩くと砂やらで足が汚れます。

下駄に足のアトが付いてしまいます。

黒い漆塗りは、汚れを目立たせない工夫です

The modern clogs material is a paulowniaBlack one is in the summer. Because it was steady in old days, feet becomes dirty with sand when women walks the way barefoot.

おこぼ　舞妓専用の下駄 O-KOBO for MAI-KO only

見た目は大きいですが、底をくり抜く事で軽量化。

舞妓は未だ15歳〜19歳。未成年者です。

こどもらしさをアピールする為の演出は、例えば、

長いだらりの帯で、本人をより小さく子供っぽく見せます。

お仕事現場のお座敷は大人の世界。

無駄な背伸びをさせないように、の大人側の配慮では？

おこぼも「幼さ演出」の1つ。鼻緒は赤。

祇園の石畳を舞妓が歩くとき、鈴がチリチリ鳴る

それも花街の風情です

ただし、

舞妓卒業に近いお姉さん舞妓は、鈴なしのおこぼ。

鼻緒の色も赤以外の色と変わります。

鈴付き赤鼻緒は、子供である証。

But,The older sister maiko almost maiko graduation wears O-KOBO without the bell.The color of the sandal thong turns into a color except the red, too.
