今回は渋く《富岡鉄斎》 Tessai TOMIOKA

わたくしの好きなギャラリーは 鉄斎作品にお強いです。

先代さんと鉄斎さんの交友があった所縁だそうです。

いろいろと当時のお話を聞きながら

様々な作品を何度も堪能するうちに

ご紹介したくなりました

明治～大正時代に活動

　　「わしは学者である」 てっさいさんは

ご自分を「画家ではない」と言ってたそうです。

（でも、1万点もの絵や掛軸が残っています）

"I am a scholar" Tessai said oneself, "I am not a painter". But his picture and hanging scroll of 10,000 points are left.

"Je suis un savant" Tessai s'est dit, "Je ne suis pas un peintre". Mais son dessin et rouleau de papier étant suspendu de 10,000 points sont quittés.

"Soy un erudito" Tessai se dijo, "No soy un pintor". Pero su cuadro y voluta colgante de 10,000 puntos se dejan.

《猛虎図》" TIGER "

最初見た頃は「勢いでうわーっと描いてる御仁だなぁ」

でも、だんだん、ファンが多い理由がわかってきました。

繊細、大胆、自由闊達といわれます。

彩色画でも水墨画でも。

富岡鉄斎プロフィールご紹介 . . .幕末〜大正の文人画家

Tomioka Tessai Profile Introduction. . The literary painter of the Edo period ~ Taisho Era

天保7年（1836年）京都の法衣を商なう富岡維叙の次男として生。

20歳のころから文人の嗜みとして絵を習い始め（絵はほぼ独学）国学・儒学・仏典を修め、

The robe of Kyoto was received as a second son of the business of Tomioka. Since he was twenty years old, he began to learn painting as a writer's accomplishment (painting almost self-taught) in the country studies, Confucianism and Buddhist.

歌は歌人 太田垣蓮月に学ばれ、在野の文人としてご活躍。

A nun's poet Rengetsu Ohta-gaki studied waka and was active as a writer of opposition.

明治元年(1868)から神社の宮司を務め、荒廃した神社の復興に尽力（これはすごい事と思います）

He served as the priest of the shrine from 1868 to the reconstruction of the devastated shrine (that was a great thing!) ）

富岡鉄斎「白雲深慮聴鐘聲」扇面画　個人蔵

後に京都に戻り、学問と画業に専念され、南画壇の重鎮に。

大正6年(1917) 帝室技芸員、8年に帝国美術院会員。

大正13年（1924年）89歳で逝去。

He later returned to Kyoto, devoted himself to academics and devotion, to the stalwart of southern painting. Taisho 6 (1917) Imperial, a member of the Imperial Academy of Art in eight years. He passed away at the age of 89, 1924.

鉄斎さんと言えば、画面いっぱいにパワー溢れる山水図 . . .ですが、ご覧になって。なんて控えめでしょう！

静かな時間がここにはありますね . . . 蓮月尼への敬意や想い、歌への配慮が感じられますね。

弁えるチカラはこんなに美しいものなのですね！

　「汲み上て世々こそめつれ山ふきの花の々ふかきうちの川水」（この書は残念ながら墨が薄すぎて撮影できませんでした）

　鉄斎さんは蓮月尼の侍童（さぶらいわらわ）でした。

大田垣蓮月さんは高潔な人生を送られた幕末〜明治の歌人です。城代家老の娘ですが、その . . .正妻の、ではないからか？生後すぐに知恩院の寺士大田垣判座衛伴左衛門の養女となったそうです。亀山城種松平家へ奉公も。その間に歌道・武芸に長じたそうです。人生の色々に対して常に前向きであったお人なのですね。彼女は夫と死別後、剃髪。蓮月尼と称されました。

養父なき後は、京都各地を転々と、焼物（急須やお茶碗）を作って売り生計を立ててらっしゃったそうです（自作の和歌を書いた焼物は蓮月焼と称す）

蓮月尼75歳の作品です。

肝心の書が薄いのは、特徴のようです。賛

「世のちりをよそにはらひてゆく末のちよをしめたるやとの枩（松）風」　

This nun's life has been affected by the eventful of the Times, but she is conveyed to have lived in integrity. (Tessai Tomioka was the Saido of the Lotus Moon Nun.) Poem "The 枩 (pine) wind of the place where the dust of the world is paid to other place and it is a thousand years of the Future" It is a work of the Lotus Moon nun 75 years old.

『清風』The fresh / refreshing breeze

　「万巻の書を読み、万里の路を行く」

鉄斎さんは文人の理想の生活を実践された最後の文人。

北海道～九州鹿児島まで全国を歩かれたそうですが

その旅は、

先達の墓参とその土地ごとの調査と研究・忠臣孝子の跡を訪ねる目的でした。

実体験して行く見識は、ドンドン広まったことでしょうね！

　　"I gonna read the book of ten thousand volumes and go the way of ten thousand miles" The last writer that Tessai practiced the ideal life of the writer. He visited the whole country on a trip from Hokkaido to Kagoshima of Kyushu and walked. The purpose was not sightseeing. He with the visit to a grave of guides of each place, With an investigation and a study every those land, He did the sign of vassals who were loyalty and filial things for the purpose of visiting . His Insight & view by his true experience will be to have spread out steadily!

「わしは意味のないものは描いていない」

日本と中国の故事・文学・儒学・仏教・哲学・煎茶・神仙思想などを吸収され、それらが多彩な作品の裏付けになったとされます。

努力で得た知性を自由に羽ばたかせて描いたのですね。

鉄斎さんが多くのファンを持つ魅力と思われます。

"I do not draw the nonsense thing" He learned most, Japan and Chinese historical fact, literature, Confucianism, Buddhism, philosophy, green tea of medium quality, Sen God thought. 作風は、50歳を過ぎてからも豊かに伸び！

「晩年に向かうほどに、ますます冴えわたった」

最晩年まで制作活動を盛んにされ、仙境図と呼ばれる独自の画境を築きあげました。

大和文華館（兵庫県の清荒神）の鉄斎コレクション

　晩年の傑作を中心に2,000余点

It is 2,000 points mainly on the masterpiece

of his later years

鉄斎さんの心に残った地の心象風景を描いた（スケッチではなく）作品の多くが保管・展示されています。

絵画・書・鉄斎が絵付を施した器物・手造りの陶器・先人の構図や筆法などを学びとるために鉄斎が摸写した粉本など多岐にわたる大コレクション！

「なぜお寺さんと仲良し？」

清澄寺の第37世法主光浄和上（1875～1969）は、

「宗教と芸術文化の花を咲かせる理想の聖域を創造したいという念願」があったそうです。

出会うべくして出会った二人だったのですね。

苦難に打ち勝ってきたような樹木と岩から発させる

ダイナミックなエネルギー！

これぞ鉄斎さん特有の勢いある筆致！

「躍動する筆致」

鉄斎さんのこの特徴的な筆使いは、

「お固めだった文人画に近代性（時代の今風）をもたらした」と云われてます。

"An energetic stroke of the pen" His characteristic manner of handling a brush It is said "to have brought modernity (modern type of the times) in a southern school of Chinese painting".

それから、

大和文華館所の鉄斎作品は、殆どが四国松山の近藤家所蔵の作品だそうです。（近藤家＝三津浜で海運業を営む石崎家の番頭さんでした）

明治6年（1873）

鉄斎さんが石崎家を訪ねた際に、当時の近藤家当主の文太郎氏と知り合って、以降、二人の交流は40年以上！

鉄斎さんから親愛の情を込めて文太郎氏に贈られたものが、近藤家の旧蔵品となったそうです . . . いいお話ですね。

Viewing UME blossoms at Tsuki-ga-se

1831年（天保2）頼山陽が友人と月ヶ瀬に来遊した時の様子を描いたそうです。（月ヶ瀬は奈良県の山の中の梅の名所）

不鮮明で残念ですが、珍しい作品と思います

羅漢さんが虎に乗って . . . 虎？？　表情はきりり

「宝船」The Treasure Ship

宝船には七福人を乗せて描かれますが、

鉄斎さんが描くと七福神ニッコニコ笑顔です！

これぞ縁起の良い絵、ですね！

ルノワールさんの言葉を思います。

「世の中には嫌なことがいっぱいある。

画家がわざわざ描くことはない。

絵とは、楽しく好ましくあるものだ」

I remember words of Renoir. "There are a lot of unpleasant things in the world. A painter does not describe it expressly. With the picture, it must not be unfavorable happily"

すべての芸術に言えると思います。

「書・高島屋美術部」額

鉄斎さんが看板を書いてらしたとは！

当時、関わったメンバーですので、当然といえば

そうですが、見つけた時は嬉しい驚きでした。

大阪の高島屋は、美術工芸部門で権威がありました。

そうそうたる面子（今、巨匠と称される）を揃えて、

海外輸出用へのじゅうたんなどの「美術工芸品」を制作し、パリ万博などへも出品していた歴史があるからです。

Takashimaya of Osaka was authoritative in those days in an arts and crafts section. To eminents（distinguished） painters named a great master now This department store produce "the art industrial art objects" such as the carpets to overseas export. The work was exhibited at Paris World Exposition.

Takashimaya d'Osaka était autorisé à l'époque dans une section d'artisanats et d'arts. Aux peintres éminents a appelé un grand maître maintenant Je vous permets de produire "les objets d'art industriels d'art" tels que les tapis à l'exportation d'outre-mer. Le travail a été exposé lors de l'Exposition de Monde de Paris.

今でも高島屋別館（レトロで重厚な建物）には

当時のコレクションがあり、観ることが出来ます。

Still in an annex (nostalgic, solid building) There is collection at the time and can watch them.
